Wedding in Venice – Cafè Florian
Venice, the most photographed city in the world, is also the most difficult to shoot and my name is not Gianni Berengo Gardin !
So a little tension runs through my veins every time I am here for a wedding.
It’s October 10th, Elena and me arrived in Venice very soon, we wanted to re-explore it quickly before starting the shoot.
We spent a few minutes walking around, drinking a coffee in a street discovered by chance, with no tourists, but pure Venetians who, like us, were having a fast breakfast.
But let’s talk about the wedding…
We entered into the apartment where Elizabeth and Chung-Li were preparing themself for the big day!
Elizabeth was getting dressed, the two exchanged glances with smiles, they were very calm and giving advice to each other.
After a few minutes arrived some friends and relatives who filled the apartment, bringing flowers, umbrellas (just in case!) and pure happiness.
Then we head to the Cafè Florian in St. Marco Square, walking through the wonderful little streets of Venice and curious tourists.
I’m comfortable taking pictures “on the streets”, I love it, and once again Elizabeth and Chung-Li quietly enjoyed the moment.
The ceremony was celebrated inside the Cafè Florian by Diane and Giuseppe Rossi, a couple of celebrants from Tuscany which I really love to work with.
Like me, they put their heart, they are so passionate about their job.
My goal at every wedding is to grasp the emotions and also this time I found them!
During the ceremony, Chung-li declared himself with touching words, when was Elizabeth turn she didn’t resist.
Spoke to Chung-Li staring into his eyes, while the tears falled her face, parents and friends were freezed.
That was a perfect moment!
I saw others tears falling down on Chung-Li’s sister face.
The coolest thing of the day was that they danced in front of the Cafè Florian in the middle of the people with the music of the famous orchestra of the cafe !
The afternoon passed fast, enjoying the warm October sun in St. Marco Square and then we took the gondolas, I assure you it worth it almost one time during life!
Even this marriage has been done… Elena and I went back to home where our daughter Camilla was waiting for us, making her grandparents crazy!
