That precious moment before you leave to be married
Photos by me, words by my friend Diane Rossi.
No one can turn their eyes away from your stunning image and as you study your own reflection in the mirror, you know that you own that moment.. Time slows down to a complete standstill, while your heart beats excitedly in your chest.
The insecurity of this moment communicates such great tenderness, which moves me so profoundly and renders every Bride so very real to me.
I have met couples who seem like they have run a marathon or even endured an Ironman challenge during the year leading to the day of their marriage.. but in that split second we all share the same emotions.. we are equal and thankfully completely ourselves.
It is for this reason that I believe my Brides to be beautiful. In such a sweet instant they are free to abandon pretence and be in touch with their authentic selves. They allow themselves to be carried away by the tidal wave of ‘marriage’ and all it entails, with curiosity and perhaps a little fear of the unknown.
The child like innocence reflected in their eyes touchingly mirror the expressions of when they were small, during the moment their Fathers told them how astoundingly beautiful and special they were.. maybe they experienced a touch of disbelief but how wonderful it felt.
The photo image pays homage to and reflects the honest precious sentiments experienced by every Bride.. and captures that perfect fraction of a second.. which seems infinite.
