Barbara and Alessio, a real adventure in Sardinia
90’s, early in the morning.
Awake since 6:00 am I get off the bus that brought me to Gorizia for school.
From the station I start walking for about 10 minutes to my school.
Often with me there is Barbara, a gentle friend, smiling, always smiling.
We did this little walk together, not every day, but it happened often.
Walking to school, I remember she kept his head tilted slightly forward as if to look at the shoes, the thumb of the left hand between the shoulder and the heavy backpack strap.
Perhaps a sign of shyness. Always with a smile.
Barbara always listened politely my nonsense words, who knows what I was saying.
Then the school went over and as it happens we didn’t see for years.
Years passed (20; -0), meanwhile I moved to Milan, we find ourselves on Facebook.
Barbara wrote and that she will marry Alessio and she would like me as a photographer for her wedding.
What a blast from the past…
I was already looking forward to meeting her and getting to know her family, two spectacular children and Alessio.
A few weeks after I meet them.
Barbara hasn’t lost her smile, even when watching their children, her face is even brighter.
Alessio showed me their home but above all the family photos on the walls.
After just a few minutes he told me how they met and he moved.
Ok guys you got me, from that moment I counted the days for their wedding as if I were a bride.
The wedding was held in Sardinia, it was an adventure lasted two days.
On Saturday there was the civil ceremony in Castelsardo, a small village perched on the sea.
Tears like rivers, fortunately I have my camera with me, behind which I hide myself very well.
On Sunday there was a party with friends in a wine estate that has given us a sunset that only in these places you can see.
I spent some unforgettable days with these couple and their friends, and it was a very intense experience.
I’ve seen them getting ready while the children were having fun.
They lived the organization of the wedding in person, helping Guido Beltrami, the wedding planner, in his fantastic work.
I saw them take their time and get excited, dancing embraced and jumping on the dance floor with friends.
I would have more stories to tell but I leave you with some pictures:
P.S .: a special mention for Guido, I was welcomed and supported by these two intense days, without his help would not be the same thing.
P.P.S .: A mention also the the chef, she prepared a wegan wedding dinner.
I saw incredible dishes created by an artist.
Without a shot being fired.
